Our contribution to the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves

Our Mandate from The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is: Igniting Change, Fueling Markets and Sparking Adoption. As such we have done the following:

• On Small budget of 70,000 Euros we have managed to raise awareness and cover a wide spectrum of our impact areas that is Urban and peri-urban.
• Igniting Change: In 2 years we have managed to move from selling over 1,000 Chitetezo Mbaula per month to 10,000 a month from various sales efforts, in the urban areas where we saw the greatest possible challenge with regards to behaviour change.
• Fueling Markets: we have managed to engage major retailers like Chipiku and Puma and linked our producers in rural areas to these. Similar NGOs who have been working on stoves have also approached us and we have all come under one effort to sustain supply through their production groups.
• Sparking Adoption: Chitetezo Mbaula has been in the country for over 10 years but only this year (since we came in) has it gained nationwide recognition. We have created a brand and helped it gain acceptance
